Role Overview
Karisla Limited is appointing a highly experienced Responsible Individual (RI) to provide strategic governance, regulatory oversight, and executive leadership for Bannies Place in Grays, Essex.
The commitment is structured as 1 day per month during the initial Ofsted registration phase, increasing to 1 day per week following formal registration.
In this pivotal role, you will represent the registered provider (Karisla Limited) to Ofsted, supervise the Registered Manager, lead governance reviews, and ensure the service operates at the highest standards of safety, quality, and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive governance and strategic oversight on behalf of Karisla Limited.
- Guide and support Bannies Place through the formal Ofsted registration process.
- Supervise and mentor the Registered Manager, supporting their leadership and operational performance.
- Ensure robust compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards.
- Review Regulation 44 inspection reports and Regulation 45 quality reviews, holding the leadership accountable.
- Conduct regular governance audits, safeguarding reviews, and quality monitoring visits.
- Maintain active communication with Ofsted inspectorates and statutory commissioning bodies.
Person Specification & Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience as a Responsible Individual or senior executive leader in children's residential services.
- Comprehensive expertise in Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted inspection methodology.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or higher relevant professional qualification).
- Deep understanding of safeguarding governance, child protection law, and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional communication, strategic decision-making, and executive reporting skills.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to Palmers Drive, Grays, Essex RM17 5RA.
