Role Overview
Karisla Healthcare is recruiting compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to provide high-quality support across nursing and residential care homes in Greater London.
In this essential care role, you will work closely with nursing staff and care teams to deliver respectful, person-centred personal care and daily living assistance.
We offer flexible shift assignments tailored to staff availability, providing ongoing opportunities in diverse healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care routines, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene maintenance.
- Provide meal preparation support and assistance during mealtimes.
- Offer warm emotional support, companionship, and reassurance to care home residents.
- Support resident mobility, positioning, and transfer using safe moving and handling techniques.
- Conduct routine skin integrity observations and record findings accurately in care documentation.
- Assist with recreational activities and encourage resident engagement.
- Maintain appropriate environmental, hygiene, and cleanliness standards across care areas.
- Participate actively in shift handovers and report changes in resident condition to senior care staff or nurses.
Person Specification & Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, reliability, and strong attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and collaborate well within care home teams.
- Up-to-date mandatory care training or willingness to complete Karisla care onboarding (including Moving & Handling, Infection Control, Safeguarding, and Dementia awareness).
- Right to work in the UK and satisfactory Enhanced DBS clearance.
Desirable / Advantageous
- Previous healthcare assistant or care home experience.
- Care Certificate or NVQ/QCF Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care.
